A soft purr and flash of tail
whispers through my heart--
and a tear falls slowly.
Reflections of a shiny black coat
and dancing white paws...
forever swatting at my dreams.
And I miss him with a smile--
my dragon kitten...
fierce and lazily purring.
Prowling through his realm--
a regal soul.
Always a wink of a green eye
for me-- his dragon human.
For we shared a love...
of life and laughter.
Now only a memory?
Ah, gods, keep him safe...
or if you keep him...
give him wings....
