Path's Light
The falling rain beats against my soul
a staccato resonance within my mind
Reminding me of murmurs, soft and low
taking me back to another time
When the Wind drove restlessly onward
and we followed, driven ahead
Dancing to it's sweet fluting chord
a whirling dervish which lead
Up into the sky we'd fly, driven
by the Wind in all his playful moods
Soaring, wrestling with clouds
throwing raindrops of all hues
Upon our MOTHER who waited below
soft bosom inviting our embrace
Whose softly calling voice we heard
left upon our souls her gentle trace
Of home and earth, all it ensures
our time here spent in joyful rapture
Playing upon the gentle plains
of our own time honored pastures
Then Lightning strikes, Thunder resounds
and I'm brought back to my senses reeling
As Brother Sky reminds my heart
It can beat now with this healing
My eyes light up, my smile endures
my path once more is lighted
With all the wondrous loving here
I thank thee most benighted
